We’ve lived so long under the spell of hierarchy—from god-kings to feudal lords to party bosses—that only recently have we awakened to see not only that “regular” citizens have the capacity for self-governance, but that without their engagement our huge global crises cannot be addressed. The changes needed for human society simply to survive, let alone thrive, are so profound that the only way we will move toward them is if we ourselves, regular citizens, feel meaningful ownership of solutions through direct engagement. Our problems are too big, interrelated, and pervasive to yield to directives from on high.

Tax the Rich to Repay Looted Social Security Money

by Allen W. Smith from Dissident Voice

Of course, the rich must be taxed to pay back what they've stolen from the Social Security Trust Fund. But, don't bet on it happening. The American people have been so conditioned to the evil of taxes that they will put up little fight to save themselves in their old age. See this where I developed this argument in more detail.

Only last month the Obama administration used a tax bill to further weaken the Fund in order to extend Bush's tax cuts to the rich. (See this)
